she sees gold
in her dreams,
hands reaching cold
through seams
of rich wood
and thinned string.
she wakes
from her dreams of gold,
pauses and trembles
for just a moment
as her eyelid blinks
furiously.
she sees red sprayed
paint over her walls,
screams telling her to
go back to her own.
she sees wrinkled paper
flying over her head,
cartoons resembling her,
laws that break and break
her dreams.
in this land of red,
white and blue,
in this land of prosperity,
she sees
nothing.
